  • I.O.U.S.A. Letter to Congress

Letter To CongressAs we did with Empire of Debt a few years ago, we mailed a copy of the companion book to I.O.U.S.A. with this letter to every member of Congress. We included the reviews of the film from Roger Ebert, The New York Times, The Economist and Variety. Just as we did with the responses we got the first time around, we’re going to publish all the ones we get this time. You will find the ones we have received below:

    • Representative Charles A. Gonzales (Texas)
    Senator Barack Obama (Illinois)
  • The Honorable Harry Reid

The Honorable Harry ReidAs we have done twice in the past: first with Empire of Debt, and more recently with I.O.U.S.A., we mailed this letter to Senator Harry Reid, as well as various congressional committee members. The letter served as a counter-argument to Timothy Geithner’s suggestion to support raising the federal debt ceiling. Wiggin urged Reid and other Congress members to take responsibility for our debts, not pass them on to later generations.
